I think there was a TV show called "the prisoner" What I remember it was a guy on an island and when he tried to escape a giant orangish ball would capture him and bring him back. Also seems there were shadowy "figures" involved. 🤷♀️
The one I am thinking of was a movie, my failing memory thinks it was starring Roy Scheider but there is no mention of it on his tracking page. It was made in either the early 70's are late 60's and depicted MIB stalkers and ORB sightings. It was a strange film that appears to be completely scrubbed.

Hanger 18 is the only one I can think of it was made in 1980
